Interesting facts

Semi-sweet red wine "Quinta das Amoras" is made from a blend of indigenous red grape varieties of Castelao, Miuda Tinta, Touriga Nacional and Camarate grown in the town of Alenquer municipality, 40 km North from Lisboa. The vines are aged from 25 to 30 years are on clay-limestone soils. After a long fermentation at a low temperature the wine is aged in oak barrels for about 4 months.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is ruby red in color.
The aroma is multifaceted, with accents of currant and raspberry, shaded with hints of pepper, cinnamon and vanilla.
The wine is full bodied, slightly spicy taste, drop on a soft texture. Rounded notes of ripe plums, hints of berries, touches of vanilla and licorice blend well with sweet tannins and continue their sound in a sustained, elegant finish.
The wine goes well with Oriental dishes, red meat, fruit, desserts.
