Chateau Leoville Poyferre, 1995 — is rich and complex, sensual and attractive, this wine is a rising star, the famous wine region of Saint-Julien. Wine style — a true Bordeaux: the bouquet is dominated by notes of black currants, minerals, smoke and toasted oak, while the finish is long, luxurious tannins. Wine made mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) and Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet franc, has excellent texture and significant storage potential, during which its flavour will improve greatly. The expected maturity of the vintage 1995: 2005-2030. the Grapes for wine Chateau Leoville Poyferre grown on gravel soils, 25-year-old vines. To improve the quality of the harvest in the vineyards used method for early removal of unnecessary shoots, control of the yield by the so-called green harvest, leaf removal to improve aeration and fruit flavors, hand-cut. After a manual harvest in small crates, grapes are sorted twice by hand. After pressing, the berries are fermented at a controlled temperature of 35°C in containers of various sizes of stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation is made in oak barrels, of which 75% are updated annually, after which the wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 months.The current vineyards of Chateau Leoville Poyferre in the XVII century belonged to the counselor of Bordeaux Parliament, a noble bourgeois, Jean de Mouat and the château bore the name of the owner — "Mont-Moytie". Wine Chateau, along with wines from Chateau Margaux was one of the first to gain recognition and fame to the wines of the Medoc. In the XVIII century, the Chateau passed into the possession of the famous Alexander de Gasquet, who renamed château Léoville. Alexander tried to make Léoville place of production of the best wines of the Medoc. He expanded the holdings, purchasing the neighboring land, planted new plantations of grapes, reducing the number of varieties, built a new cellar, where he introduced modern at the time of vinification methods. After his death, Léoville in Saint-Julien was the largest Chateau of the Medoc, there are 120 hectares of land.

The wine is purple-black.
The aroma of the wine is sweet, chocolate, with notes of black currants, minerals, smoke, toast and toasted oak.
Sensitive, excellent wine, outstanding concentration, with layered fruit flavors with an appealing texture, relatively low acidity and a long, sumptuous, tannic finish.
The wine goes well with braised beef, lamb, grilled veal, sausages, in particular with salami, as well as poultry and cheeses: mozzarella, Cheddar, blue cheese, feta, goat cheese.
