Interesting facts

Red wine Estate Merlot is made on the basis of Merlot (85%) with the addition of varieties Carmenere (15%). The vineyards are planted on irrigated, well-drained alluvial and colluvial soils. Thanks to the influence of the Pacific breezes in the Central Valley has a Mediterranean climate with moderately warm summer days. Sharp fluctuation of daily temperatures promotes maturation of grapes with intense color and concentrated flavors. Usually harvesting is done in April. Hand-picked berries, carefully selected on sorting tables, after separation of the ridges and neat crushing is sent into the steel container for the further alcoholic fermentation at a temperature of 26-30°C. Then, the maceration, which, depending on the grape variety and the land on which it was grown, can last 12-25 days. Before the full maturation of the wine is aged in wood barrels of French and American oak for 8 months. Before pouring the clarified and stabilized wine undergoes a light filtration.Vina Errazuris was founded in 1870 by Don Maximian the Errazuris, when he bought a piece of barren land in the Aconcagua valley. Hard work, great vision, investment and common sense has led to the fact that now can be called a world-class vineyards. Currently, Vina Errazuris owns 350 hectares of vineyards and produces over 4 million bottles a year, of which 90% is exported. The Executive Director is energetic, Eduardo Chadwick is a descendant of don Maximian in the fifth generation. "Vina Errazuriz, under the leadership of Eduardo Chadwick is a collection of wines of exceptional value and quality" — so praised the work of Eduardo the famous critic Robert Parker. Ambitious goal of the winery is not only producing the best Chilean wines, but also to find among the hundred best wines in the world and one hundred best-selling wines in the world. And I must say that this goal is realized perfectly without any marketing moves that simply are not needed — in fact the quality of wines Errazuris speaks for itself. So, in a blind tasting in Berlin in January 2004, luxury wine farm — "Vinedo Chadwick" 2000 — won convincingly such wines of the 2000 vintage as "Chateau Margaux", "Chateau Lafite Rothschild", "Chateau Latour", "Sassicaia" and many others. And this is not an isolated success! He also repeated several times during tastings conducted by professionals from around the world.
