Wine "I Castelli Romeo e Giulietta" are as beautiful as the love story of Romeo and Juliet. They are home to the lands of Venice. In the distant 1530 they become a refuge for a writer Luigi da Porto, staying in a Villa in Montorso Vicentino, near two locks — the Capulets and the Montagues. He wrote the Novella "La Giulietta" on the basis of which, later, Shakespeare created his masterpiece. Historians say that Luigi da Porto was inspired by the ruins of medieval castles standing on the hill nearby, which the author saw from his window. Today the ruins are called "the Castles of Romeo and Juliet" ("I Castelli Romeo e Giulietta").
