"Poggio alle Sughere" Morellino di Scansano is a generous, well-structured wine, made from a blend of two grape varieties — Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in vineyards in Magliano. After collecting the berries undergo maceration for 10-12 days. Wine is aged 8 months in small oak barrels and then another 3-4 months in bottle in the cellars of the winery.

Tasting Characteristics

Wine of deep red color with a ruby center and more transparent rim.
Bright, rich flavor of the wine has absorbed the hints of red cherries, cedar, coffee, flowers, earth and aniseed.
A pleasant, harmonious and elegant wine with an impressively strong taste. Silky tannins great shade notes of violet, raspberry and pomegranate. Long finish ends with hints of menthol and spices.
The wine goes well with grilled meat, game, Mature cheeses.
