Interesting facts

In 1991, the company acquired the winery ridge Lytton Springs, fascinated by her vineyard with old vines. An area of 14 hectares, established in 1900-ies in Greek Dry in SONOMA, creating wine is a traditional blend of approximately 70% of which was Zinfandel, and the rest was divided between other red varieties (usually Petit Shiraz, Carignano, Grenache and Mataro). For the position of winemaker at Lytton Springs in 1969 was invited by the eminent oenologist Paul Draper, who in 2000 was named Decanter magazine "Man of the year". And winery, and the wine is named in honor of captain Lytton (Lytton Captain), who in the late nineteenth century belonged to the land.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine has a deep purple color.
The aroma of wine is filled with flavors of raspberry jam, hints of pepper, mint and hints of toasted sweet oak.
The wine has a sensual flavor with hints of fruits of the prickly berry bushes and cherry, hints of anise and smoke, creamy texture, distinct tannins and balanced acidity.
Wine make a perfect pair with grilled meat, dishes with tomato sauce, and seasoned cheeses.
