The second wine farm Tenuta del Ornellaia, "Le Serre Nuove" was introduced into production in 1997 by a decision of more strict and rigorous selection of base wines when you create a blend of the main wine "Ornellaia". Despite the second place in the hierarchy of wine farms, "Le Serre Nuove" combines the pedigree of the flagship wine, is expressed in the freshness, accessibility and softness with structure, balance and intensity typical of the great terroir of Ornellaia. A blend of wine grape varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet franc.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is ruby red in color.
Very fresh, clean scent of wine filled with strong notes of wild berries and fruits, sweet hints of violets, hints of hot spices and roasted coffee beans.
The taste of wine — full, fruity, with good weight, but at the same time elegant, with a glossy velvety texture, rich notes of fruit, fine acidity, tight tannins and an endless, intense, refreshing finish.
The wine is perfect for red meat, game and aged cheeses.
