Red wine Pago de Carraovejas "Crianza" is made from a blend of 3 grape varieties — Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown in the Ribera del Duero. The harvest is carried out manually in small boxes. Fermentation takes place under strictly controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and in oak barrels. Aging wine in barrels of French and American oak, some of which are new, lasts for one year.The 2013 vintage was bottled in April 2015, the Founder of the farm Pago de Karraovehas in 1988 was Jose Maria Ruiz — sommelier and restaurateur who is a respected and famous person in the wine world. Its wines are the status of "wine for everyone" and are among the best wines of Ribera del Duero. In the realm of Ruiz has one of the best sites in the region, Pago de Karraovehas. Land with unique soil is at an altitude of 800-900 meters above sea level. Topsoil contains a mixture of stone and sand, the second layer consists of pure limestone. The difference between night and day temperatures can reach up to 20-24°C. the Pago de Carraovejas Hillside facing South-West facing, allowing the grapes ripen perfectly. Crop harvested and twice sorted by hand, then fermented in big French oak tanks. After 12-14 months of aging in barriques, the wine is bottled without prior filtration and clarification. Karraovehasa wines are sold exclusively on quotas. Wines "Reserva" and "Cuesta de Las Lebres" produced in exceptional years. In the remaining years of the best grapes only produce "Crianza". Popular wine "Cuesta de Las Liebres" is created from grapes of the same plot which is located above the rest and has a unique terroir. This area is called the "Hare meadow", as in a pine forest, located near the site, home to a huge number of birds.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine has red-cherry color with purple reflections.
The wine shows a bright, multi-faceted fragrance that reveals notes of ripe red fruit, cherry, BlackBerry, spice, underbrush and cream.
The wine is generous, round taste with a perfectly balanced texture, hints of red and black fruits, light balsamic nuances and integrated tannins in a long finish.
Wine is a great accompaniment to red meat dishes, including grilled meats, beef stew, roast venison and various cheeses.
