Grapes for wine Principi di Butera, Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the municipalities of Butera and Resi, in the province of Caltanissetta. The vineyards are located on hills, at an altitude ranging from 300 to 400 meters above sea level. Sea, located just a few kilometers away, has a beneficial effect on the climate. Rich white limestone soils reflect the light, creating vines around a unique microclimate. Fermented Cabernet Sauvignonна for 2 weeks. Wine is aged for 12 months in 350-liter barrels (50%) and 60-liter barrels (50%), followed by several months of aging in bottle.Feudo Principi di Butera — Tenuta ancient history, once owned by aristocratic dynasties Branciforte and Lanza di Scalea. Ambrogio Branciforte, was the first Sicilian Governor, appointed in 1543. King Philip II of Spain granted him the title of Prince of Butera. In 1895, the title and lands passed to Girolamo Lanza. Vineyards "Feudo Principi di Butera" is a privileged land in the province of Caltanissetta, on the hills that receive heat from the hot southern sun and strong breeze from the sea nearby. These conditions are perfect for growing grapes and creating fine wine with great potential. The vineyards cover 320 acres of land, of which 180 hectares are under young vines.
