Well-balanced wine "Vina Augusta" Semidulce is created from four grape varieties of Macabeo, macabeo and of Charello act as bases and beneficiries as well as for the production of dry wine, and the fourth — Muscadelle gives the wine an elegant sweetness of ripe fruit, floral aromas and light notes of nutmeg. Each of the grape varieties is fermented separately at controlled temperatures, so the wine has a very fragrant bouquet and a soft fresh taste.Winery Rene Barbier is not accidentally a French name — its founder, Leon Barbier, at the end of the XIX century came to the region of Avignon, where his vineyards were completely destroyed by phylloxera. Leon Barbier decided to start all over again in Spain and chose the Penedes region of Catalonia, on the Mediterranean coast. Thus, Barbier applied his knowledge and tradition of French wine in terms of climate and soil of Catalonia. Since then, the farm specialized in the production of white and red wines, which didn't disappoint Barbier family and always enjoyed a steady demand. Son of Leon, Rene Barbier, who inherited his father's winery, it is much expanded, modernized and in 1934 was awarded her its name. And in 1984, Rene Barbier farm became part of Freixenet and get a new powerful potential for the development of their business.
