Interesting facts

Quinta De La Rosa "La Rosa" Reserva — fragrant wine with freshness and elegance of taste, which is created by blending the best red grape varieties: Touriga Nacional,Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo). Winter 2012 was extremely dry. In connection with insufficient intake of water in the soil, the bloom of the grapes was uneven, and the berries grew very small, but concentrated. The harvest began later (16 September), and lasted quite slowly. Due to heavy rain the harvesting process was suspended and resumed in a week. Despite the adverse weather conditions, the grape skin was in excellent condition, with no threat of rotting. The berries were carefully selected before they are sent to the winery. After pressing in granite tanks began the process of fermentation in small stainless steel vats. The wine is aged in French oak barrels and was bottled in September 2014. "La Rosa" Reserva, 2012 can be drunk now or over the next ten years.Quinta De La Rosa is a small estate in the heart of the Douro wine region in the Alto, which belongs to the family Bergqvist. Owns 55 hectares of vineyards, and, very importantly, at different heights: 7 hectares located at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level, 10 ha at an altitude of 150 meters, and the rest of the vineyards at an altitude of 250-450 metres. Different height and layered soil vineyards give wines their unique character with greater flexibility, variety, and complexity of flavor and aroma. La Rosa has always produced excellent products, but with the advent in 2002 of the talented winemaker Jorge Moreira wines are fantastic. Winery has won many awards and their products are sold in many prestigious restaurants and wine stores around the world.
