The grapes for making this wine are grown in the vineyard "Colonnello" in the area of Bussia Soprana, the average age of the vines on a plot of about 40-45 years. The grapes are harvested manually in mid-October. 2005 is a successful vintage for Barolo DOCG Colonnello.
The wine has deep ruby red color.
The wine has an intense aroma with notes of strawberry, truffle, licorice, underbrush, flowers and leather. In the air the aroma of spicy notes appear.
The wine has countryboy, well-structured, juicy palate with fruity notes and fine tannins. Long finish.
The wine goes well with red meat dishes and Mature cheeses.
