Interesting facts

The vineyard "Husarenkappe" ("Busby") has a very symbolic name, reflecting the history of the life of Baron Benjamin of Heller von Ravensburg, the former mayor of Baden cavalry hussars. Family legend has it that in 1795, he received from the hands of his boss, Margrave Karl Friedrich of Baden — seedlings Riesling, which he brought home in a hussar's hat, and subsequently planted in the vineyard near the castle. Vineyard "Huzarenkappe", an area of 6.5 hectares, located in the South-Western part of the hill which is a geological monument of nature. Its sandy-clay soils have many shades (blue, red, white) and rich in minerals and chalk. These soils are very suitable for the cultivation of Riesling. Age of vines more than 40 years, their productivity is quite low. A distinctive feature of this terroir is a high aromatic wines.

Tasting Characteristics

The color of the wine is bright yellow with brilliant gold reflections.
The aroma of the wine is full of delicate notes of peach, grassy hints and a tangible mineral accents.
The wine has a rich, complex flavor, bright tones of ripe fruit stand out on dense, well-textured background. Expressive minerality and soft fruit acidity refreshes the palate and develops into a long, pleasant finish.
