The wine Domaine Jean Chauvenet, Nuits-Saint-Georges has a dense color, intense fruity aroma, rich taste and long aftertaste. The wine is made from grapes Pinot Noir, 40 which are harvested by hand pickers during the week. Preliminary fermentation takes place over 5-6 days in a concrete tank at 10-12°C. Fermentation lasts two weeks at a controlled temperature of 28-32°C. the Wine is aged in oak barrels, 15% of which is new. The wine is not clarified and not filtered. The peak of the ripeness of the vintage 2012 will be in the years 2016 to 2022.Domaine Jean Chauvin, founded in 1969, produces some of the most elegant and stylish wines in the region of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Chauvin family started winemaking in 1680. Jean Chauvin greatly expanded the area of vineyards, including acquired several plots of the CRUs. In 1994, the estate began to manage in-law Jean Chauvin — Christophe Drag, who brought the family business a modern and energetic touch.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is very intense ruby red color.
Notes of wild berries, leather, licorice, currant intertwine in a sensual aroma of wine with hints of balsamic.
Full-bodied wine with a full, dense tannins, giving him a good storage capacity. On the palate the wine reveals hints of red fruits, dark chocolate, rose petal, underbrush and wood.
