Hans Igler, St. Laurent Classic elegant dry red wine made from the indigenous grape varieties St. Laurent (St. Laurent), who cultivated in the region since the nineteenth century. The name is derived from the celebration of August 10, the day of St. Lawrence, the patron Saint of cooks, in this day and ripen the grapes. After harvest, the berries undergo a classic vinification at controlled temperature. Wine is aged in large oak barrels for 8-10 months.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is an attractive ruby-cherry color.
The wine shows a generous, fruity aroma with dominant notes of ripe cherry, BlackBerry and spice.
The wine has round, balanced taste with hints of ripe dark fruit, pleasant acidity and well integrated tannins in a persistent finish.
Wine is perfect for dishes of roasted or stewed red meat or game, to venison, beef Stroganoff and meat dishes with curry sauce, and cheeses.

About the manufacturer

До 1950 года поместье Schaflerhof принадлежало семье Эстерхази. В 1966 году его приобрел художник Anton Lehmden, а в 2004 — Ханс Иглер. С этого года и начинается производство вин Hans Igler. Основными виноградниками хозяйства являются Ried Hochberg (Рид Хохберг), Ried Fabian (Рид Фабиан) и Ried Goldberg (Рид Голдберг). Они расположены на высоте 240 метров над уровнем моря, первые лозы высажены в 1960-х гг. Отличные климатические условия, благоприятная почва и тщательная обработка виноградников — основа для высокого качества изготавливаемой продукции. С 2010 года к семейному бизнесу присоединился Clemens Reisner, внук основателя хозяйства. Молодой и амбициозный, он стажировался в Veritas в Австралии, а также в Châteaus Canon La Gaffelière в Бордо.
