La Chapelle de Bages, Pauillac AOC — second wine farms Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal, created from a blend of two grape varieties — Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vines, Dating back 15 years, grow on clay-gravel soils. The harvest is carried out manually. At the winery the berries are traditional Bordeaux vinification, which takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Wine is aged 12 months in oak barrels.The wine La Chapelle de Bages can be drunk now or within the next 10 years.Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal has a compound name: "Haut Bages" means that the farm is located in the hills overlooking the village of Bages, between Polycom and Saint-Julien. The liberal name of the family who founded the farm in the eighteenth century. These lands are often replaced the master, and in the first half of the twentieth century the estate was abandoned. But when in 1982, the estate went to Jacques Merlot, owner of Chasse-spleen, this transaction was truly happy with the purchase. Being the biggest names in the estuary of the Gironde, château Haut-Bages Liberal is adjacent to the famous château Latour. The first vintage of 1982 proved that the wine of château Haut-Bages Liberal is ready to compete with the elite wines of the region. The total vineyard area — 28 hectares average age of the vines is 30 years. The vineyards are planted with 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. The main wine is called "Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal", the second wine, "Chapelle de Bages".

The wine has a deep ruby red color.
