"Barolo nei Cannubi" — wine of the highest class, which in their richness, depth and fullness is absolutely not heavy. Fragrant bouquet of the wine shows a real riot of colors, and a perfectly balanced, elegant taste is the best expresses the terroir.Home to Nebbiolo, from which you created the "Barolo nei Cannubi", Cannubi is the CRU in Cuneo, the site of which is slightly larger than 2.5 hectares were purchased at the winery "Fratelli Gancia". The vineyards Cannubi is a lovely South and South-East exposure at an altitude of 220 metres above sea level. The soil consists of gray-white marl, rich in sand. The three ages of vines were planted on the site in 1945, 1962 and 1991. After fermentation in steel tanks and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged two years in French Allier oak barrels and another year in bottles. Wine storage capacity is 20 years. Many of you know Luigi Einaudi as a great economist, politician, journalist, and second President of the Italian Republic (1948 and 1955), largely thanks to which the country recovered from the turmoil after the Second World war and were able to recover and the economy, and jurisprudence. But not everyone knows that, despite the enormous employment, Einaudi, who in his native region in Dogliani validly named "the Professor" owned vineyards, was worried about them with all your heart, as they say, never missed a harvest in San Giacomo. Vineyard San Giacomo size of 40 acres was the first vineyard purchased Luigi Einaudi in 1897. With him began the history of "Poderi Luigi Einaudi". Today, the farm owns 145 acres of land, of which slightly more than 45 given under the beautiful vineyards. Management philosophy for many years is the rule that "great wine can only happen with a great vineyard and great terroir." Therefore, the family Einaudi carefully selects sites for their vines, with great respect for the land and gently cares for the vineyards. The winery, which was completely rebuilt in 1993, cherish the traditions of the region, flexibly combining them with modern technologies. So, the main part of the winery is almost entirely underground in order to provide the required constant temperature and humidity. Vinification is done in fermentation tanks of steel with computer controlled pumping, exposure is carried out in medium and small French oak barrels, followed by long aging in bottle.The wine Poderi Luigi Einaudi, a synonym which can be called the word "quality" has received numerous national and international awards and recognition from wine critics.
