Portal del Priorat, "Gotes" DO Montsant — red wine, which the manufacturer uses cups two grape varieties — Garnacha and Carignano. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 300 and 700 m above sea level, their soils are rich in content of clay and limestone. The average age of the vines is 40 years. The crop is harvested by hand and placed in small boxes of 16 kg. Thanks to this method of collection and transportation, the berries are damaged less and the risk of premature oxidation of the grapes are virtually eliminated. The vinification process begins with pressing and fermentation in steel tanks with natural yeasts. After a short fermentation the wine is pumped into oak barrels to avoid possible microoxigenation. Wine "Gotes" Montsant is aged in French oak barrels for 8 months, then bottled. The storage potential of the vintage 2015 is 5 years.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is deep purple in color.
The aroma of wine is filled with notes of fresh black fruit, hints of spices, black pepper and light mineral tones.
The taste of wine is simple, but has good depth and vivid intensity, shows a remarkable freshness thanks to his inspiring acidity that promises a long aftertaste with a slight bitterness and spicy nuances.
Experts recommend to drink wine paired with complex salads, sushi and baked white fish.
