"Abadia" Blanc de Blancs white dry Spanish wine from the winery Raimat. The wine is created from a blend of grape varieties of Chardonnay and albariño, grown in the vast province of Lleida (Catalonia). Berry picking is done at night when the temperature is low, it allows to preserve the freshness of grapes before it arrives at the winery. Immediately after removing the fruit from the vine, the grapes are cooled to 10°C and separated from the ridges. Must is transferred in steel tanks where the fermentation at temperatures of 14 to 16ºC. After this the wine is filtered and bottled. Vinification process here requires special care and thoroughness as the main condition is to preserve the natural freshness and fruity aroma of berries. The tandem of Chardonnay and Albarino produces a very interesting wine with great charm. Chardonnay brings to the wine tones of tropical fruit and Albarino — tones of apricot, citrus and flowers. "Abadia" Blanc de Blancs has won several awards at prestigious competitions, including:— silver medal at the "Mundus Vini Awards, 2009"

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is clean, pale yellow color with greenish undertones.
Intense aromatic bouquet of the wine is woven from refreshing hints of tropical fruit. The bouquet reveals notes of grapefruit, vanilla, apricot and orange blossom.
Wine with refreshing acidity, lovely texture, sweet notes of ripe fruit, peach, apricot, citrus and flowers on the palate and a long aftertaste.
Wine goes with white meat, fish dishes, rice and pasta.
