"Le Supplement" Syrah — one of the greatest wines from Syrah made in California. Luxurious, powerful, sexy, this wine has concentration, great structure and great development potential. The blending of wines in addition to the dominant Syrah came in varieties such as Petit Syrah, Grenache and Viognier. All the grapes were harvested in the vineyard, Eleven Confessions Estate. 28% of the grapes were fermented whole cluster. The 2013 vintage received two of the highest rating of 100 points from Robert Parker and Jeb Dannaca. The latter compared it with the wine Côte-Rôtie "La Turque" in 2009 from the eminent French farms Guigal.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is dark ruby-garnet color.
Attractive aroma of wine filled with notes of earth, meat, sandalwood, mossy bark, patchouli and salami, compote of blackberries, canned plums, pie with minced meat, star anise and dried lavender.
Full-bodied, concentrated, decadent, luxurious taste explodes tones of canned black currant, seasoned with savory hints of meat, and ends epic, lingering finish with notes of exotic spices.
The wine perfectly complements red meat and game dishes, and Mature cheeses.
