Chateau Giraudot Rouge, Bordeaux AOC, 2012 — a well-balanced, elegant red wine made from the traditional Bordeaux red grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet franc. Grapes for wine are grown in the province of Harnack, on clay-limestone soils with a rocky bottom layer. Limiting yields and strict selection of healthy and fully ripe berries allow to obtain high quality wines with excellent taste characteristics.Girod Chateau was built in the XVIII century in the center of entre de Mer, in a place called Harnack. In the 80-ies of XX century was made complete reconstruction of the castle and of the winery. The vineyards of Chateau is situated on the slopes of small hills, located around the castle, on marl soils. The vineyard area is quite big — 335 acres. It is mostly grown red grapes, and only 30 hectares are devoted to white varieties. The average age of the vines is 20-30 years. The yield of the vines is strictly limited, the grapes are harvested manually at the peak of ripeness. The wine Chateau has a long tradition. After the modernization of offices and cellars, wine production has increased significantly, improved the already high quality. The Chateau produces two wines — red and white. Wine Chateau, producing traditional Bordeaux method under the guidance of oenologist Nazih Chamas, have excellent balance, long maceration process and aging on the skins give the wine a deep color and good structure with powerful tannins. All wines are aged in oak barrels, 50% of which is updated annually.
The wine has deep ruby red color.
The wine has an intense fruity aroma (blackcurrant, cherry), complemented by light hints of mint, pepper and fresh herbs.
The wine shows rich, dense, well-structured palate with elegant fruit notes, with light hints of cherry and a long, pleasant aftertaste.
This wine goes perfectly with meat dishes, game, Mature cheeses, meat delicacies, sausages and pates.
