An excellent, elegant wine "Clos des Lambrays" Grand Cru is created from a crop of the same vineyard, exclusively owned farm Domaine de lambre. The total area is 8.7 hectares, the site is located on a hillside at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. The average age of the vines in the vineyard for 40 years. Wine production begins with the manual harvest with partial destemming. The fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks. Then the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new). "Clos des Lambrays" Grand Cru 2011 has a excellent storage potential in 10-15 years.Winery Domaine des Lambrays is named after the largest vineyard belonging to the Domain, — Clos des Lambrays (Clos des lambrays.). First mention of this ancient vineyard date back to the year 1363 in the sovereign acts of the notorious Abbey of Citeaux. In 1789 after the French revolution, the area enclosed by a low wall, was divided between 74 owners during the XIX century it was gradually purchased two merchant families — Rodier and jolie. In 1938, the vineyard at the time qualify as premiers CRUs, was acquired by the family Cosson. The new owners soon lost interest in winemaking, but the wines of the vintage 40 years is still appreciated by many connoisseurs. In 1996, the Domain again changed owners. Now it is owned by Gunther Freund — the owner of a construction company from the German city of Koblenz.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is bright, deep red.
The rich aroma of the wine are harmoniously woven shades of cherry and raspberry, coffee and spices (with a predominance of white pepper), nuances of smoke and underbrush.
Complex flavor the wine has a sweet silky tannins. Long aftertaste is decorated with mineral notes.
