Interesting facts

White wine Meursault "Clos de Mazeray" from Domaine Jacques Prieur is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyard, which is a private monopoly of the economy. The vineyard, surrounded by an old stone wall, located on the outskirts of the village of Meursault on the site of an ancient river bed on the clay-limestone soil. The vineyard was created by the hands of monks from the monastery of Citeaux, located nearby. Since ancient times, are produced excellent red and white wines. For the production of wine "Meursault Clos de Mazere" the grapes are harvested manually, then the entire bunches are put in a pneumatic press. Alcoholic fermentation and aging of wine is held in oak barrels, of which 30% is new. The wine undergoes a secondary malolactic fermentation, then aged for 18 months and then bottled in traditional Burgundy bottles. The wine is ready to drink, can also be stored for 6-7 years after bottling.
