Tenuta il Poggione, Rosso di Toscana — young, very fresh wine with bright fruit, which is produced from grapes Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards of Tenuta Il Pocone are located at an altitude from 150 to 450 meters above sea level. Harvested manually. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature of 25 to 28 °C lasts for 15 days with regular immersion cap. Then takes place the malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged 12 months in large French oak barrels and barriques, followed by a period of aging in bottle. Method of vinification and the combination of the three varieties make this wine soft, fragrant and perfect for daily use.Tenuta Il Pocone was founded by the family of Francesca in the year 1800, when the head of the family, Luigi, Francesca, visiting Montalcino, was fascinated by the majestic scenery and acquired the land here. One of the biggest achievements of the family had the potential of Sangiovese and wines from him — were carefully selected and planted in suitable soil the clones of Sangiovese, the most suitable for the production of quality wines. Under the direction of Luigi was carried out to protect agriculture from the mold using modern methods. He also built a winery with the latest technology of the time, without losing sight of tradition and uniqueness. Currently, this family business run by the descendants of the founder, the couple Leopoldo and Livia Franceschi.
