Moderate coastal climate and sandy, containing limonite, soils of McLaren Vale favor abundant vegetation, planting almonds, pine forests and olive groves. The latter landed the first settlers in this area of Australia along the vineyards. Starting in the 1840's, olive trees spread everywhere, even in the vineyards, including in the middle of the plot with Chardonnay, the winery owned by "d'arenberg".
The wine has a beautiful Golden color.
The aroma of the wine displays an attractive array of notes of nectarine, apples Granny Smith, vanilla, spices and lightly roasted nuts.
The original wine on the palate are notes of cream, stone fruit and white flowers. Then there are nutty nuances. In a long and dry aftertaste are subtle nuances of vanilla. Overall, the palate shows a great balance between the crisp fruit and subtle notes of well integrated oak notes.
The wine goes well with fish dishes, seafood, white meat, cold pork.
