The winery Tenuta La Braccesca is one of the first acquisitions of Antinori in 1990, located a few kilometers from Montepulciano, South-East of Tuscany, on the border with Umbria. The property has total area of 380 ha and consists of two parts: the historical center, located in the South of Montepulciano and occupying 86 hectares planted with the best vines for the production of Nobile di Montepulciano, and 294 hectares of land between Montepulciano and Cortona, of which 151 hectares given over to vineyards at the foot of the hills surrounding Cortona."La Braccesca" 2010 — graceful, elegant, balanced wine produced by Antinori since 1990. The 2010 harvest was filled with incredibly fresh and fruity notes due to the temperature drop in the latter stages of ripening berries. After harvest, the grapes for 15 days were subjected to fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. After fermentation, the wine was poured in wooden barrels where it was 12 months and underwent malolactic fermentation. After bottling in July 2011, the wine matured for 12 months.Antinori family is part of the honorary Association of the Oldest Wine Families (Primum Familiae Vini) and is engaged in winemaking for more than six years. The history of the company dates back to Antinori in 1385 and today it operates the representative of the 26th generation of the family — the Marquis Piero Antinori. The wine is ruby red in color
The wine is incredibly fresh and fruity aroma with bright hints of tobacco and spices.
On the palate the wine tones of cherry and BlackBerry supported harmoniously balanced tannins which give the wine suppleness and elegance. The finish is long and mineral that is very characteristic of Montepulciano.
The wine goes well with meat dishes and soft cheeses.
