The winery Tenuta La Braccesca is one of the first acquisitions of Antinori in 1990, located a few kilometers from Montepulciano, South-East of Tuscany, on the border with Umbria. The property has total area of 380 ha and consists of two parts: the historical center, located in the South of Montepulciano and occupying 86 hectares planted with the best vines for the production of Nobile di Montepulciano, and 294 hectares of land between Montepulciano and Cortona, of which 151 hectares given over to vineyards at the foot of the hills surrounding Cortona."La Braccesca" — graceful, elegant, balanced wine produced by Antinori since 1990. Climatic conditions in 2012 was characterized by precipitation deficit in spring and early summer, which led to a very small number of the ovary. Sufficient rainfall fell only in mid-August that allowed the grapes to increase in size, although the sugar levels were still quite low. Even with the warm weather in late August and during September, the level of sugar in the grapes has not reached the required values, so the wine from the 2012 harvest was very balanced, with a rich flavor, but nevertheless without excessive amounts of alcohol. After harvesting the grapes for 15 days were subjected to fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. After fermentation, the wine was bottled in oak barrels where they underwent malolactic fermentation and aging for 12 months. After bottling in the spring of 2014, the wine matured for 12 months.Antinori family is part of the honorary Association of the Oldest Wine Families (Primum Familiae Vini) and is engaged in winemaking for more than six years. The history of the company dates back to Antinori in 1385 and today it operates the representative of the 26th generation of the family — the Marquis Piero Antinori. The wine is a brilliant ruby red color.
In the aromatic bouquet of wine has tones of blackcurrant and blackberries which are complemented by light notes of spices.
Taste the wine is full and supple, with notes of BlackBerry and red fruit that harmoniously blend with notes of tobacco and spices. The wine has firm tannins and invigorating acidity.
The wine goes well with meat dishes and soft cheeses.
