Interesting facts

"Col di Sasso" is a pair of red wine "Le Rome" in the main line of the company Castello Banfi, one of the most famous wines of this manufacturer. Young, bright and easy-drinking wine. The name translated from Italian means "Stone Hill" and this is no accident because it is made from a mixture of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, grown in the rocky and impassable areas of the estate Banfi in Montalcino. Sangiovese gives the wine richness and Cabernet Sauvignon enhances the structure and fills a bouquet of bright fruit tones. The grapes are harvested in the second half of September. Fermentation for 5-6 days carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25-30°C. This allows you to get a good color and keep the flavor of the wine, while not burdening the excess tannins. Also malolactic fermentation. The exposure for a short time takes place in stainless steel tanks. The potential for wine storage is 3 years. Winery Castello Banfi has its origins in 1978, when the successful American (of Italian origin) entrepreneurs John and Harry Mariani, together with Ezio Rivella, which is an Italian oenologist, bought vineyards in the southern part of Tuscany. The official name of the company came a few years later, when they acquired the castle of Banfi Castello di Poggio alle Mura. Today, Castello Banfi is a thriving family business, which is recognized throughout the world for the highest quality products. The total vineyard area is over 800 hectares. Factory Castello Banfi is the first in the world, which is recognized as absolutely correct from an ethical, social and, most importantly, the ecological point of view. He also is a leader in customer satisfaction.
