Roccolo Grassi, Valpolicella Superiore is a beautifully balanced, elegant, fragrant wine. By mixing several varieties of grapes that are harvested in the prestigious areas of Veneto in northeast Italy, it has a versatile aromatic palette perfectly reflects the modern style of Valpolicella. The grapes are harvested in the first week of October, when the fruits reach optimum maturity. The berries are fermented at 25-28 °C in stainless steel tanks. Maceration and fermentation with daily remontazhem lasts 15 days. The wine is aged 20 months in 225-liter and 15-22 gektolitrovyh French oak barrels and then another 10 months in bottles.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine is clean ruby-red color.
Quite spicy and rich aroma of the wine is woven from notes of cherry, raspberry, fresh flowers, sweet spices, tobacco, leather, pepper and coffee.
Rich and intense, crisp and smooth taste of wine has its own style and character. Smooth texture and freshness are reflected in the persistent aftertaste with hints of fruits and berries.
The wine is beautifully revealed in conjunction with the game, hot meat and spicy dishes, beef, grilled or broiled. It will be a great tandem with pasta, beans and cheese, with a taste of medium intensity.
