Roccolo Grassi, Valpolicella Superiore is a beautifully balanced, elegant, fragrant wine. By mixing several varieties of grapes that are harvested in the prestigious areas of Veneto in northeast Italy, it has a versatile aromatic palette perfectly reflects the modern style of Valpolicella. The grapes are harvested in the first week of October, when the fruits reach optimum maturity. The berries are fermented at 25-28 °C in stainless steel tanks. Maceration and fermentation with daily remontazhem lasts 15 days. The wine is aged 20 months in 225-liter and 15-22 gektolitrovyh French oak barrels and then another 10 months in bottles.

Tasting Characteristics

The wine has a deep ruby red color.
Expressive, elegant aroma of the wine is replete with hints of ripe cherries, black tea, herbs and licorice.
The wine shows a rich, rounded palate with a silky texture, notes of cherry, black cherry, licorice and tea Earl gray, with dusty tannins and a long finish.
The wine is beautifully revealed in conjunction with the game, hot meat and spicy dishes, beef, grilled or broiled. It will be a great tandem with pasta, beans and cheese, with a taste of medium intensity.
